Fine Powders

Non-Free Flowing Powders

This category defines the group of dry powders composed by fine dust particles. These are typically very volatile products and do not flow easily, tend to compact, and to form vaults (“bridging”) during handling.

Some typical examples:

  • Flour
  • Baking powder
  • Cocoa powder
  • Coloring powder
  • Ground pepper
  • Talcum powder
  • Coffee 3 in 1
  • Spices

Since these are products which do not flow easily through the sole effect of gravity, they require augers to be dosed.

Auger feeders developed by IMAR for our packaging machines are controlled by independent servo-motors for each lane. This allows adjusting the weight in each lane independently with absolute accuracy. Thank to a unique design, our auger feeders are completely-closed systems where product is never exposed to the environment during the packaging process, opposed as to what happens in traditional designs used by most manufacturers. This particular feature avoids any product spillage around the nozzles area, but even more important, the possibilities for any external element to accidentally fall into the packet during the packaging process.
